The Violet Burning, the foursome hailing from Long Beach that has kept its indie status and popularity for four full-length albums has no intention of backing down. The band has had no major label contract but has attained major success, selling over 90,000 units. Fronted by the musically versatile Michael J. Pritzl, the band continues its considerable and well-deserved commercial success. Their blend of rock and electric music has made them international stars, with airplay on MTV France and MTV Europe. The Violet Burning’s music features thoughtfully provocative lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies. Their live show, a passionate and charged concert, is a must see. The Violet Burning had an amazing performance at the Indoor Stage (watch the video ) as well as an intimate and inspirational praise & worship set. Gaining his start in the now defunct Love Coma ('92), few artists combine the passion and fervor of street preacher with lyrical insight of a poet. Chris Taylor is a storyteller with unabashed transparency about his own condition. Making us twinge with shame he still draws us nearer. Chris has a unique ability to slip prophetic gems into the middle of a pop anthem or folk ditty that slips off his tongue and into our hearts. With a critically acclaimed award winning recording under his belt the best is yet still to come. Chris is now moving toward a radio friendly rock and folk, lyrically capturing brokeness, tenderness and reckless abandon. Caught in the delightfully confusing modern world where faith and humanity often collide, Chris paints songs with such a wide colorful palette that emotions run wide and deep. Chris Taylor was joined at this year's Cornerstone by artist in his own right, Ruben V, for a truly mesmerizing performance. To find out more about Chris Taylor please visit his website.
